In light of recent reports regarding the death of a puma within the estancia’s property, we are sharing the official statement issued by Ganadera Cerro Guido S.A.
As a Foundation, the loss of native wildlife is deeply concerning and stands in direct contradiction to the conservation values we actively promote. We reaffirm our position of zero tolerance toward actions that harm biodiversity.

Ganadera Cerro Guido’s Commitment to Wildlife Protection
In light of the recent circulation of images showing the unfortunate death of a puma in a sector of our estancia, Ganadera Cerro Guido S.A. states the following:
We deeply regret this incident. For our organization, the loss of any native wildlife is a painful event that runs counter to the values of conservation and coexistence that we actively promote in this territory.
In light of the above, and as soon as we became aware of the events depicted in the images in early February, we contacted the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and filed the corresponding report with Carabineros de Chile, providing all relevant information to the competent authorities (the Public Prosecutor’s Office) so that the exact causes and circumstances of the incident may be investigated.
We have committed to actively cooperating throughout the entire investigative process. Our policy is one of full transparency; we do not tolerate or conceal actions that threaten biodiversity.
This incident compels us to continue working more strongly together with Cerro Guido Conservation Foundation to promote a model of coexistence between wildlife and productive activities in territories of high environmental value.
Ganadera Cerro Guido reaffirms its commitment to advancing toward a sustainable production model that protects the ecosystems of Patagonia. Conservation is not merely a statement of intent, but the central pillar of our future.
